You have a couple of kids. Things are going really great, and you and your partner/spouse/mate decide that adding to your family would be an excellent idea! You decide to go for it, and have #3, because, after all, you saved every stitch of clothing #1 and #2 wore (You’re covered, right?). Everything goes really well, and you are really excited for the arrival of #3. You prepare for the big arrival by taking out all of #2’s clothes (Because #2 and #3 will be the same gender) and prepare the room. You are overflowing with excitement as you bring home your precious bundle! Everything is in it’s perfect place, and baby girl (Lily) fits right into #2’s (Ruthie) clothes. It’s wonderful…for the first couple of months. Then, you decide that there is a difference. Aside from their very deceiving almost parallell looks, baby girl (Lily) seems to be a larger (Read GARGANTUAN) little one. She seems to be tearing through #2’s (Ruthie) wardrobe at an alarming rate (Feel my panic).
Now, let’s imagine that you had a special day. It’s your 9th wedding anniversary, and your husband has to work. You send #1(Charlie) and #3(Lily) off to their grandparents house so you can get some clothes re-arranging in Andre The Giant’s (I mean er, Lily’s) room. Now, imagine that you had a nice shopping trip for household necessities (Read-Food and Toilet Paper) with #2 (Ruthie) and returned home to a starving, tired husband. The three of you have a wonderful dinner out, and when you return home you spend no less than 4 (read- 7 1/2) hours taking out old clothes, sorting them, and getting out new clothes and putting them in their place. You feel all happy, and accomplished, and then it happens…….you realize everything is all wrong! All of the “next size clothes” (12Mo) are the wrong season! #2 (Ruthie) my sweet, sweet, little petite Princess was in 6-9 months until she was no less than 15 months old. That’s great for her, but Monster baby (I mean Lily) is already in 6-9 mo and moving out of it, and she’s only 8 months old. There is no way she will be in 6-9 months through the summer. I have not one single stitch of 12 mo clothing of the summer pursuasion. Not one! No sundresses, no shorts, Nothing. Zilch. Zip. Nada. Lily (I mean #3) will need a whole new wardrobe. This has been my fear since she came home from the hospital in 0-3 mo instead of Preemie like her sister. I’m freaking out. I’m panicing. I’m realizing that while they all might look relatively similar, they are all 3 very, very different. -Sigh-
I guess I will be spending April Fool’s day at the used kids clothing store stocking up on summer necessities for Lily!
Hugs,
Sabrina
